How to know if what you're doing is the right thing
contantly doubting whether it's actually your thing or if there's more... here's how you can figure it out
Okay, so you’ve found something where you’re like: “Yeah, this is okay. I like this, but is that really it? Is this really my path? Have I found my place in this world or am I supposed to do something different? Maybe there’s more? Maybe there’s something else? I’m a bit scared to do it and get started!”
And people telling you to just do it and figure it out are kinda annoying, aren’t they? Because you know that yourself, you just don’t really want to begin only to stop again because it wasn’t the *thing* afterall. And it’s also only an idea, right? Who knows if it will even work out?
Well, I must say that “just doing it” and “learning as you go” is something I stand behind, because in order to get better at something, one of the things required is experience.

Buut, all of that experience and doing won’t help you anything if you still have doubts about whether you’re actually doing the right thing. The right thing for you.
So... how do you know?
So, how do you know if it’s the right thing?
Try this: the next time you’re doing that one thing that you like but are unsure of, notice yourself consciously. Ask yourself the following questions:
- – How does this make me feel?
- Do you feel calm, joyous, happy, light and positive or do you feel annoyed, heavy, down, unsure and confused?
- – Can I imagine doing this for the rest of my life?
- Not saying that you have to or will. Just see if you feel comfortable with the notion of spending more time with it.
- – Is this gving me energy or taking away energy?
- Do you get a boost of energy when you start doing it or do you feel tired and drained afterwards?
Don’t worry if you don’t have an immediate answer. Carry the questions within you. Or maybe only one at a time and see what answers come up. Maybe you’ll think something, maybe you’ll feel something or maybe you’ll just know.
If you feel calm, joyous, happy, light and positive then keep pursuing that! It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone as long as you feel as described. If that thing makes you feel drained, then adapt it to your likings and turn it into something that brings you happiness.
There is no right or wrong path that you can go on. The most important thing is that it brings you joy. And that’s it.
Whether it will make you money or how you can incorporate that into your life – that will come eventually. That will come to you when you let it flow. For now you need to settle on something that you feel confident about.
And trust your gut and your heart when it tells you that it’s filled with joy. Trust your body when it feels light. Even if your mind is telling you stories about how it could go wrong, if your body is okay with it, trust that!
